Do you support the work and principles of Vale Wildlife Hospital?
Would you like to make an ongoing commitment to help in a way which is tangible yet flexible and suitable for those who feel unable to take on more physical tasks?
Do you have skills which may be of benefit to the effective running of the charity?
If so you could be the person we are looking for. The trustees of Vale Wildlife Hospital are seeking new members to join the board.
Trustees are ultimately responsible for the good running of the charity, ensuring it is well run and continues to achieve its intended outcomes. In practice the trustees leave the day to day running of the hospital to our founder Caroline Gould and the management team.
The trustees meet several times a year to assess the work of the charity, review the accounts, consider requests for significant purchases and deal with any other business affecting the charity. The trustees hold insurance against some of their potential financial liabilities.
The basic requirements are that you must be at least 18yrs old, not bankrupt, have a strong personal commitment to the charities aims and objectives and be willing to travel to Beckford for trustee meetings and other occasional events.
Further information about the role and responsibilities of a trustee can be obtained from the charity commission website. You are strongly encouraged to read a publication by the charity commission “The essential trustee, what you need to know†which can be obtained via the following link https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/298865/cc3text.pdf
If having read this information you are interested in being considered to become a trustee please write to Billy Chapman-Smith, Chair of the Trustees, Vale Wildlife Hospital, Station Rd, Beckford, GL20 7ANÂ or by e-mail to caroline@valewildlife.org.uk setting out your reasons for wanting to be considered and the skills and/or experience you think you can bring to our organisation.
