Casualties can be brought to us from

7.30am - 8pm every day.
Unfortunately we are often not able to collect
small animal casualties from you as our staff are needed in the Hospital itself.
We rely on you bringing the animal in to us.

In 2010, Vale's founder Caroline Gould was awarded IFAW's Lifetime Achievement Award for more than 26 years of helping sick & injured wildlife.

The UK's wildlife faces more problems today than ever before and unfortunately most of these problems are caused by people. A vast majority of the casualties we at Vale treat have
sustained their injuries through coming into contact with humans:
road traffic accidents, domestic cats, fence injuries, mower and strimmer incidents,
habitat loss, building work, new roads, snares, the list is endless.
Some people say that injured wildlife should be left alone, we shouldn't interfere but should
'let nature take it's course'. That would be fair comment if the problems encountered by our
wildlife were 'natural' but very few are, and I believe we have a duty to try to redress the
damage that we are doing.
