VOLUNTEER VETS – an amazing opportunity for vets to gain experience in the very different world of wildlife treatment and rehabilitation. We can offer short and longer term placements for qualified vets wanting to volunteer in one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the UK.
HELPING VALE AT CHRISTMAS – We are also looking for vets who would like to volunteer some time over the Christmas period to allow Anna, our vet, to take some much-deserved time off. If you can give a minimum of half a day of your time to work within the wildlife hospital, please get in touch.
Please email email@example.com if you are interested in this opportunity.
Self-catering accommodation may be available for a small, weekly contribution towards services.
Veterinary surgeons who have qualified outside the UK (with an RCVS recognised qualification) are able practice in the UK for up to 3 months in any 12-month period on a ‘visiting registration’, providing they are registered in their own member state. To practice in the UK for periods exceeding 3 months, overseas veterinary surgeons would have to apply (and pay) for permanent registration. Further information is available from: https://www.rcvs.org.uk/registration/applications-veterinary-surgeons/.
Overseas graduates are only required to complete the PDP if they are intending to register with the RCVS for a period in excess of three months.
Veterinary surgeons on placement at Vale Wildlife Hospital are expected to practice in accordance with the charity’s Standard Operating Procedures and Practice Guidelines, under the direction of Anna Sturaro MRCVS.
Proof of qualification and eligibility to practice (including your registration number) will be required before commencement of placements at Vale Wildlife Hospital.
