This poor hedgehog came in a few days ago, totally entangled in sports netting. He was a very lucky little chap though as, despite the tangle, when the netting was removed, there were no injuries at all.

However, following any constriction, we always keep any animal for a minimum of 7 days in case pressure necrosis occurs where underlying (and initially invisible) damage has been done to the deeper tissues, leading to a breakdown of the area that was constricted.

There have been no signs of this so he will be going back to the wild soon 🙂
